In Bloomberg 2019 Innovative Index, India for the first time had made it in the list of most innovative nations and has bagged the 54th spot of the 95 countries. South Korea ranks first and next follows Germany with improvements in research and education, with only marginal difference when in comes to score of 87.38 and 87.30, respectively.
And as per the Bloomberg, the process of assigning score, in the scoring for 2019, over 200 nations have been included.

“Each was scored on a 0-100 scale based on seven equally weighted categories. Nations that didn’t report data for at least six categories were eliminated, trimming the total list to 95,” Bloomberg reported.

The annual Bloomberg Innovation Index analyzes dozens of criteria using seven metrics, including research and development spending, manufacturing capability and concentration of high-tech public companies, said the report.

Finland scored 85.70 and grabbed the third spot in the list, followed by Switzerland, with a score of 85.49. Israel came in at the 5th spot with a score of 84.78.
